A story of a very sick little hard disk drive

One of our customers called us with a VERY slow laptop.
We test the hard disk and it's only at 9% health. The lowest we have ever seen one.

Previous low was 11%.

We set about trying to clone the drive to a new one.

Three days later and huge amounts of I/O errors, the process completed.
Drive now at just 2% health.
We refitted the new hard disk expecting the worst.
What we got was a surprise. First boot, stright into Windows. No errors.
A full file scan to be sure and now the laptop is up and running and blissfully happy.
No, wait..... that last part about blissfully happy. Well, that's us.
